What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?

I change my mind. I like the freedom of that. I occasionally change it and then change it back.

I used to run marathons and be a vegetarian. I loved running. I used to think yoga was silly and stretching was a waste of my exercise time. I used to think I had to get my heart rate up and keep it up for as long as I could. I used to think calories were all the same. That fat made you fat. I used to think brown rice was good for me. I used think low fat carbs like brown bread and potatoes were a healthy choices for me. I thought a Cliff bar and an apple was a healthy snack. I thought weight lifting would bulk me up. I thought I would never read on a device…

I’m fickle? I’m learning? I was even raw vegan for awhile, but for me, it wasn’t sustainable. All my sugar and simple carb loves caught up with me. I still say do and eat the way you feel is good for you. Enjoy! I have fond memories of Pure in NYC and peanut butter and local honey on brown bread sandwiches. I have cool memories of marathons and training. I adore a real book. Dessert is delicious! Life is short. Change your mind. Embrace something new. Why not? It’s all good.

    1. Oh
      Thanks for asking!
I eat small farm raised dairy, meat and eggs. Wild caught sea food Locally grown vegetables. I read the labels of anything and if it has too many ingredients, if it has corn syrup, seed oils like corn oil or soybean or canola, ‘natural’ flavors I’m a firm no. I eat plenty of protein, plenty of fat (like tallow, butter, avocado or olive oil) and very low sugar and very few simple carbs. If I eat carbs I eat protein first.
I probably have blood sugar issues because if I don’t eat this way I’m constantly hungry

      1. That sounds great! I have been trying to do an animal based diet myself… i feel so much better since cutting out all the bread, pasta and other processed crap. I have actually been considering a full on carnivore elimination diet for 30 days and then reintroducing things to see how I feel. It’s pretty intimidating tho 😳

Have you ever done something like that and if so, what was your experience?

      2. I had some health issues and read about inflammation and diets that are best for getting rid of it. I tried keto for 30 days. The first week was brutal but it got easier. (It’s hard to eat out or explain to people who don’t understand) I felt so much better and learned a lot about my system. I’m not keto now, but I eat in a way that my weight doesn’t fluctuate anymore, I’m not hungry all the time and I feel good. I wish I could eat pizza and bread and cookies like everyone else, but it’s not worth it to me.(On occasion after enough protein I’ll have tiny portions) it has to be 100% worth it. Quality over quantity always!

      3. Agreed! I’m in the same boat, and found the animal based diet, and tons of articles about the inflammatory nature of plant based and processed foods. At this point, I try to stick to mean, dairy, and fruit. But like you said, explaining that to people can be super difficult, especially with the current sociocultural environment and preferred research ideals.
